WHO IS NICK SCHWARTZ?
This is no nutshell, but I am happiest unzipping the tent as the wilderness begins to awaken, breaking the horizon of a mountain's long-trekked peak, dancing in a rueda under the sun with joyful salseras, fishing calm waters on a tranquil summer morning, lazily sipping mojitos on a warm tropical beach, and making little moments of sincere connection with others.
I love the sound and smell of a coffee brewing but have have never drunk a drop of it in my life. I'm always hanging out at the bar, but my idea of "hanging out at the bar" involves a power rack with a barbell and some heavy weights. I have a nerdy side for history, biology, and anthropology, but my goldfish memory makes me a terrible trivia team member. My culinary attempts in the kitchen are often deliciously successful, but regardless of the results I'll be shaking my hips to son subano, jazz, or blues while cooking. My appreciation of cinema is deep, but my thirst to enjoy life is deeper.
I have trekked over 17,000-foot elevations in the Andes and have hiked alongside wild giraffes before summiting Kilimanjaro. Lived briefly in Japan, studied salsa dancing in Cuba, nearly struck by lightning in Iraq, and witnessed the full power of a solar eclipse with a gaping jaw. I have celebrated Carnival with street dogs in Spain, brought out the smiles of a horde of orphan children in Thailand, watched the sun rise in the middle of the Pacific, and self-taught myself snowboarding on black diamond slopes because the views were much better than on the bunny hill. Whether I'm backpacking across the Grand Canyon or poking a beholder's eyeballs in a D&D game, I find it hard to turn down a good adventure. I can spend countless days meandering alone through the landscapes of the Sierra Nevada or through the cobbled alleys of foreign cities.
I am ambitious with what visuals crawl into my head, and the process of bringing those imaginations to life with a camera in my hands makes me thoroughly happy - a result of countless childhood days spent terraforming my neighborhood into various fantasy worlds. With 15+ years of experience in the photo industry under various roles, this creative problem-solver and visual storyteller enjoys crafting top-shelf visuals that get your brand noticed.
MY ROLE IN THE PROCESS
As a photographer, I utilize advanced lighting techniques, composition strategies, and compositing expertise - as well as innovative, cost-saving solutions - to create dynamic stills for product and conceptual advertising. What really sets me apart is how I blend old-school craft with new-school tools, bringing AI-integrated workflows into the studio without ever losing the human touch. I'm a fanatic for good technical challenges, so when clients come to me with complex, conceptual ideas... I get really excited! I'm all about making things fun in conjunction with professionalism - otherwise, what's the point in being an artist, right?
My creative retouching is specialized in complex photo compositing, color grading, focus stacking, naturally aesthetic skin, AI image finishing, and other creative touch-ups. As post-production support, I cater remotely to high-end advertising campaigns, high volume e-commerce imagery, the visual storytelling of editorial projects, and integrative photos for mobile gaming. I will match my highly organized, non-destructive workflow to meet the needs and deadlines of my retouching clients. I also offer digital tech services to select clients that specifically require my expertise in composite and integrative photography with solid digital asset management.
Whether as a photographer or as a retoucher, I view communication as being critical to the creative process. With every assignment, I prefer to work as closely as possible with everyone involved to ensure every meticulous detail of the vision is brought to life - making the execution of my client's message clear through beautifully-crafted images as my most important mission.
